Peterborough’s new power station is on line! We wanted to let you know how very pleased we are with the installation. It’s a bit like magic and it’s difficult to stop looking at the meter. What ever we do, go to work; go away on holiday; whatever, it carries on producing electricity.

At first it was difficult to fully understand the technology and the system and we thank you for spending time fully explaining everything during your initial visit. The websites you suggested (energysavingtrust.org.uk and direct.gov.uk) were very useful as well. After we placed the order we were kept fully informed via many e-mails and calls. The instal-lation was begun and completed on the promised dates. Great care was taken to ensure eve-rything was installed with consideration for our needs and without major disruption or need for internal redecoration. Your company has a professional approach to all aspects of its work from start to finish. We are very pleased with the service received from Hereward Solar Solutions. We know it will vary with the seasons but I thought I’d let you know that our 16 panels produced 340 kW in the first 4 weeks of operation. Long may it continue. We would happily recommend Solar PV and Hereward Solar Solutions.

Hereward Solar Solutions were helpful from the start, I chose this firm because they answered all emails the same day. Nothing was too much trouble and they offered plenty of suggestions & help to the finished design. Their price was ex-tremely competitive & far cheaper than some companies. There was no hard sell, possibly the opposite because they will not fit a system if they do not think it will be fit for purpose.
They arrived to carry out the work when they said they would & were very very friendly. They installed everything quickly & explained the system as they fitted it. The system is fitted to a high standard, better than I expected with the inverter/meter board which is out of site in the loft.
When they finished they explained everything & how it operates, the documentation for the finished system was very professional with all of the guarantees, test sheets etc, all put together in a folder..
I would highly recommend this firm.
Just a note of thanks for the PV installation which you completed on 13th July 2010 for us. All the paper work was carried out by email and you guided me through the Planning Permission and registration process with our energy supplier British Gas which made the whole process very easy for me. You kept us well informed about what was required in respect of the installation, including the erection of scaffolding and you arrived on the day that you said you would.
The complete installation only took two days which included replacing our elderly fuse box. You and your colleague worked very safely and we had no inconvenience. You cleared up so well that apart from the additional equipment and cable we would not have known you had been in the house if we had not been here. At all times you were patient and considerate and did not mind repeating instructions etc so we could ensure we knew what was happening and what we had to do.
We had 12 number 175 watt panels installed on our west facing roof, which should generate a maximum of 2 Kw/hr and you gave us an estimated output of 1,500 Kw per year. To date, after 4 weeks (28 days) from 13th July until 10th August we have generated 180 Kw hr (earning £75) averaging 6.43 Kw hr per day, during what has been an duller than usual period. Hence I am confident that the predicted output will be achieved.

I thought I had all the information that I needed to know about solar panels and every other company that came to quote my installation didn't tell me anything new or that I didn't already know until that is when Danny from Hereward Solar Solutions called and the first thing he told me added more to the information I had gathered already which even after three months have passed since the installation and I’m still emailing questions which Hereward Solar Solutions answer promptly and concisely.
I found them to be very reasonable in their estimate they also kept me informed about the progress of my installation when the time came to install it went so smoothly I hardly noticed the installers until they informed me that the install was complete at which point they were very precise about informing me about the installation. When Brian started looking at solar Photovoltaic systems and researching on the internet, he knew the questions to ask Danny and he understood the answers. I understand the 'technical' terms of some free electricity, getting paid for producing electricity and reducing our carbon foot print!

Just a few words about our PV installation..
I had been thinking of solar panels for a few months prior but kept thinking it was too expensive and the returns would be minimal but after seeing an advertisement in a local magazine for Hereward Solar Solutions, I decided to venture on to their website. I entered my postcode into the “House Checker” and received my email telling me the size system I could have and the approximate Feed In Tariff that I would receive. I liked what I read and so arranged a visit.
Danny arrived on time and on the day agreed. He explained what it was all about and what would happen then simply gave me a price after making sure I fully understood everything about solar and left. No pushy sales talk and “we will give you this amount of discounts if you sign up now “ etc etc.
I was impressed with Dannys attitude towards his customers and had virtually made my mind up as he walked out the door but I wanted to get another quote. I wish I hadn’t bothered because the guy didn’t turn up for the first appointment and on the rearrange visit quoted silly prices. 2 hrs later and I had booked Hereward Solar Solutions to carry out the job, I then signed all contracts via email and simply agreed a date .
The Guys turned up on the agreed date and time and installed the panels. The Installation was of very high quality and professionalism and both guys were trustworthy and genuine and friendly. Nothing was too much and I would not hesitate in recommending Danny and Martin to anybody thinking of buying solar panels. When the work was complete they both came around and explained everything to my satisfaction .

The panels are working very well and we have produce nearly 90kw in a little over 10 days with our 2.1kw system. @ 43p a kw that's £38.97. The advice you gave us was absolutely correct and the "NO pressure sales" was very welcome. Frankly we couldn't have done better. The fixed price policy is a really good idea and as you know you were the cheapest by a long way. Having said the cheapest that doesn't mean cheap products or cheap work in this case.

We’d just like to say thank you for the excellent service from start to finish of the installation. The initial consultation was very professional and with no hard sell at any stage. The quote was very reasonable particularly give the high quality materials that you used.
We were extremely impressed by the speed with which you replied to e-mails and how quickly the whole installation was completed; having started on the Monday, you were complete with the solar panels generating electricity by Tuesday afternoon. So far we have been monitoring the electricity generated every day and in less than a month we have already made £150 in FITS alone – that doesn’t include the money we have saved on our electricity bill!
We have not had to do anything to the system at all – we just sit back and watch the meter light coming on showing that we are not taking any electricity from the grid. Most days this month we have not taken any electricity from our supplier between 0800 and 1700 – even when using the washing machine and the cooker! And it is only April!
We would thoroughly recommend Hereward Solar Solutions – a very professional organisation.

Today is the first anniversary of our Solar PV installation and we are delighted with the performance.
Your estimate for the the 3.96kWh installation was 3300kWh/yr and I am pleased to advise the actual output was 3589kWh. Our daily maximum has been 27kWh but we did have a number of days in the Winter with no generation.
You may remember after installation we had the added bonus of an old electricity meter which actually counted backwards during export. The electricity supplier did rectify this after a month but it was a great bonus while it lasted.They did not install an export meter and assume 50% of the electricity generated is returned to the grid for reimbursement. Overall based on last years tariff we have seen the following return:-
FIT payments 1482 GBP
Export 107 GBP
Total 1589 GBP
Without an export meter It is impossible to quantify the reduction in consumption from the grid but we have noticed a reduction in our energy bills. So overall the solar panel installation is a great investment.
We totally agree with the other testimonials on your website with regard to the purchase and installation of the system but would emphasize the excellent communications throughout and the very high standard of work- Real craftsmen.
(Even Micha the dog enjoyed playing with Martin!)

We researched the potential benefits of Solar PV extensively before deciding to go ahead. In the end it was a no brainer. Once that decision was made the choice of installer was not in doubt. The Solar Info Centre at Notcutts is a brilliant way to show the benefits. The one fixed price (no hidden extras for scaffolding like most others) easy, clear communication and positive feedback made Hereward Solar Solutions the clear number 1.
Martin and Andy were brilliant and the installation was completed, as promised, on time and with no mess or upsets.
Typically, the fantastic spring and early summer weather immediately changed to a couple of weeks of rain and cloud! but even so in the first three weeks we have made 300 kWh.
Our electricity supplier has not yet decided to provide us with an export meter, just assuming we would be exporting 50% of what we make, this is the same as some other customers. This makes watching the electricity meter rather fun when the system is consistently producing more than we are using during the day!
So overall - very pleased with the product and very pleased with Hereward Solar Solutions as the provider and installer.

Just a short note to thank you for installing the most amazing solar system at our house in Peakirk. Your initial visits explained clearly what the benefits and fitting process would entail and your website helped us to make a well informed decision which we are absolutely thrilled with.

Its been a month now since you installed a 2.2 kw system on my roof. I have waited this time so as to be sure of the performance of this system. I can now say that I am so pleased with the solar panels that I am sure I will be enlarging this system from 12 panels to 20 in the near future. Considering the last 10 day have been overcast I have still generated 240 kw which equates to just over £100 in feed in tariff payments.
As my outlook on purchasing solar generation was mainly to invest some of my savings into a better return for my money it seems to be successful. At the moment it looks likely that it will give me a return of about 10% per annum tax free plus any electricity generated to reduce my electric bill. As the bank interest rate will be low for the next few years it looks as if I have invested my money in a cast iron scheme, guaranteed for 25 years.
As for the installation my wife and I was impressed. Your guys worked continually and have done a excellent job. It looks very professional, the system was explained to me and they tidied up. We are both pleased that we visited your display at Notcutts garden centre to see the solar generation system working. From speaking to your rep onwards I have found working with you first rate. No exaggerations, as many solar panel companies tell. Your performance figures look to be accurate, your work first class and you have some exceptional guys working for you.

Hi Danny,
I thought you would be interested in our year end figures for the solar, you gave us 3,210 units to aim for, we actually did 3,383 Kwh and was paid £1,772.20. Our best week was May 3rd 138 units and the worst was January 4th with 4 units.
If it had been a sunnier August we would have been well over. We kept the figures for every week all year it was interesting but keep forgetting now. So we are very pleased as all you said was spot on, and of course we have saved on our electricity bill too but haven't worked that out yet.

It has been 3 months since Danny and his crew installed our solar panels. I cannot fault Hereward Solar Solutions in any aspect of the process from quoting for, installation, to aftercare. My panels are doing exactly “what it says on the tin” we have just submitted our first meter reading and are expecting a cheque of around £200 Feed in Tariff for our first quarter.
During quoting Danny was ready to answer any questions that I had and had an easy to follow estimate system so it was instantly apparent what I would be paying. He looked at the particular requirements of our household, budget and property. (We are not a straight forward installation as we have panels on 3 roofs, all feeding into separate connection in our inverter). He was in touch and ready to answer further questions as I had them, but did not hassle me about committing to the work.
He came to do the actual installation when he said he would and all his men, including the scaffolding company, where polite and helpful.
After installation he came personally and checked that he was happy all was running as it should be and gave me a comprehensive folder of all the paperwork pertaining to the panels. He help to fill out the forms need to register our panels and feeder tariff.
I just wish that all work that I have had done at my home was as effortless.

If anyone is considering the installation of a solar panel system but still have doubts then go no further than Hereward Solar Solutions.
I carried out lots of research and got quotes from 4 different companies. What a waste of time! I now realise that, had I just relied on the visit from Danny Letts, (not really a wise thing to do, I know!) I would have been up and running so much earlier.
His initial visit was so informative and covered everything I needed to know. His presentation was by far the most genuine and his quotation very competitive. He even passed on to me a supplier promotional discount so it came out even cheaper.
Installation date was set for Monday 12th September, 2011. When this day arrived it proved to be the windiest day for years and I doubted that the job would be started at all as my property is very exposed. However, Martin and Andy assured me that they would not take any risks. Many cups of tea and coffee later the installation was switched at 2pm on Tuesday, a fantastic result under the circumstances.
